Best Industries to play
Hi all,
I am new to locomotion having found a very cheap copy at a local store and just had a question if i may.
Which industries do you all use to play in your games please? I have now installed a couple of mods after looking round the forums here for a few days; these are: -
The Autoparts Mod
The High-Tech mod
Are there any other good ones out there you would recommend too please?
Also any other mods that you think make the game more enjoyable to play would be great too. I am not one for modding but if i had to i could try.
Thank you all in advance and sorry to trouble you all.

Re: Best Industries to play
Here is a topic with some of the industries that you can download here on the forums http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 12#p955912 (you'll have to search the forums for them)
There are many more that you could probably find by searching but it all depends on where your interests are, and what you want.
Hope this helps. Enjoy playing Locomotion!

Re: Best Industries to play
Any good mods
Would it be selfish if I suggest my mods ? The NAM is almost like a total conversion of the entire Locomotion game, and will keep you busy
My valuebles mod and Opan his Nickelmod are together to be found in one new and very nice scenario...
That's this scenario: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=49480
The NAM can be found here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=55922 (Also comes with a great scenario)
The Valuebles mod here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=56510
The nickelmod here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=56496
A whole overview of different new industries, mods and vehicles can be found here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=19614
If you're looking for nice maps, check "The Serpent", "Peninsular World", "Soldier Summit" and "The Industry River" all from Zimmlock who did great scenarios for the game. Also Blue Beetle's maps and Plastikman's maps look great. Look for those scenario's via the search button
So there's enough to keep you busy for hours and hours and hours
Good Luck, and welcome to the grand world of Locomotion and the TT-Forums which can be a guide to a greater goal
Regards,
Erik

Re: Best Industries to play
Is the Great Lakes Mod available still someplace as i cannot find anywhere still open that has the download? Found it
Emperor i have already installed a lot of yours and love the change they bring to the game!
I find your valuables mod helps to start making money very quickly in the game. One question was there a reason that the armored trucks can do 90mph in 1900?

On a side note about that mod, make sure you have a backup of your objdata folder because that one overwrites a bunch of files. Or at least it did when I played it a while back.
And about the armoured truck in EmperorDarthSidious's valuables mod (though don't take my word for it because its not mine) I beleive its because Tattoo only made one model for it, and I'm assuming it is so you can use it to transport the things all the way back to 1900.

Re: Best Industries to play
Well, like Opan said...Only one armored truck was build by Tattoo (and he did a great job), he left the discission to me to what year it would be available and what speed it should have. I thought it would be easyer to keep the settings like he made it, because some people start the game in the 1900's. Maybe I change the settings of the mail trucks so you can use those as armored trucks as well. You can however change these settings with Locotool of Tattoo's vehicle too if you want to...Drengin wrote: One question was there a reason that the armored trucks can do 90mph in 1900?
The train-cars for silver, gold and jewelry are available from 1950 and up...so you can use those as well.

Erik

Re: Best Industries to play
Thanks for the answers gentlemen.
Emperor i really don't mind the fact that they are available so early on and find them blitzing past a Vulcan bus to be hysterical (sure that say something about my personality).
I may play with the modding tools at some point, but as of now see no real need as there are some very good mods here to keep me going for a while at least.
If it would not be too much to ask could you please code the first NAM Goods Truck (1900 ->)to carry gold and silver too. That would cover me in the game until the more correct trucks are available.

Re: Best Industries to play
Ok, I converted 4 standard trucks so they can carry gold, silver, jewelry and money. But they cannot be used as NAM vehicles anymore. So you must select the NAM vehicles and the Armored vehicles as well if you intend to use both mods in one game (otherwise the NAM-Trucks could carry more then 9 different cargos) !
You can download them in the topic from the valuebles-mod here: http://www.tt-forums.net/viewtopic.php? ... 21#p968121

Erik
