Difficulty in making an "Open Transport Giant" game
I'm wondering how hard it would be to make an "OpenTTD" for Transport Giant; an "Open Transport Giant"; where each passenger has a house and workplace, and maybe much more.

It's less a question of difficulty than a question of dedication. Invest enough time, and *you* can do it. Yes, you can. If you really want. The necessary skills can all be learnt, no single person was born with them and often aquired by just doing and trying things. If you only want that others do it: no, then it won't happen.

IT IS DIFFICULT. I think you had to be a megalomaniac at essence to be able to do this project. I'm NOT a megalomaniac. I think most of (ALL OF) software developers had megalomania as their starting point.

After further research I'm asking the wrong question. Put another way; simutrans seems to do what I want and I think I'm better off offering my time to help them progress VS simply redoing a lot of the work they've already done.
